Brondesbury House

The main wall and stacks were removed, supported and new opening to garden formed. The existing hall that had connected the two spaces now houses the bulk of the storage, freeing up the walls from such demands.

The kitchen and island units were constructed from seamless re-cycled plastic giving the impression they were cut from stone, yet not cold to touch.

Raw materials become finish with wall surfaces rendered in white plaster. For contrast and durability the kitchen wall is finished in a tinted lime polished plaster creating a simple and easily maintained surface.

The island unit houses the kitchens drawers and deep hidden dustbin at its centre. The unit can be re-positioned using locking wheels.

To make the connection between inside and outside space, a raised platform was constructed over the terraced patio to the garden.

This brought the new deck to floor level, naturally encouraging you to step out.
