London Mansion Block Apartment

Like so many mansion blocks this apartments has a very generous entrance hall a hark back to the formal reception room.

This space was opened up and connected to the kitchen space by removing the separating wall creating a large kitchen dining area. This opened up the space to natural light connected the windows from the front with those at the rear allowing light to travel through as the sun rises and sets.

The existing living room was then given access to this new space by a new opening with oak double-doors. These doors can be folded back, allowing “further connection of windows”. The kitchen uses simple acrylic plastic doors, white glass spashbacks and a honed matt black granite worktop. Storage is maximized with Full height wall-to-wall storage across the full width on one side.

The ceilings are concrete so we decided to use a commercial surface mounted dimmable lighting system.

The bathroom is rendered in raw white plaster and again uses acrylic sheeting this time as shower surround and splash backs.
